Teknofisa Monk
by Antonello Messina
Teknofisa Monk
In 2016, Antonello began a fruitful collaboration with the accordion manufacturer Teknofisa in Vercelli, Italy. After meticulous design and research, the instrument was born, which Antonello chose to call Monk (in homage to the celebrated American pianist Thelonious Monk). The result is a futuristic accordion, revolutionary both in its use of materials and its innovations, such as replacing the sixth bass row (diminished triad) with one composed of the tonic, subdominant, and minor seventh. The instrument is a "special signature" created in collaboration with Teknofisa. Many thanks to: Gian Luca Bronzini, Fabio Sette Radice, Alessio Galazzo, and Giovanni Castagno.
